OIL SCALP & HAIR TREATMENT
Healthy lustrous hair starts at the scalp. We all want to achieve shiny beautiful hair, whether long or short. However, nowadays we can’t go about without some low lights, highlights or any hair coloring, ironing, curling techniques that will always create some damage. We over process our hair and spend even more buying products to help “repair” it. Don’t get me wrong, I do too. & I have very few products that I like. But, apart from buying products, I tend to gravitate more towards DIY hair treatments! Why? Because healthy hair starts at the root, and by root I don’t mean, your roots, I mean naturals.
There are many hair treatments out there to keep your hair strong and “repair” it slightly. But very few target the scalp & follicle. I have a few treatments and mixtures of oils I tend to treat my scalp with. Today, I will share one of my favorite.
- 2 TBSP of Sweet Almost Oil
- 2 tsp Jojoba Oil
- 2 TBSP Castor Oil
- 2 TBSP Coconut Oil
- 4 Drops Lavender Oil
- Mix all the oils together and apply to your scalp first, then run your fingers down your hair & apply to hair. (Focus on the scalp first!)
- Let it sit for at least 1 hour (now I usually apply it as an overnight treatment, you will see what works best for you).
- Shampoo & Condition as you wish.
Sweet Almond Oil is rich in vitamins. For instance, it contains vitamin E which is rich in antioxidants and stimulates blood flow to your scalp, as well as vitamin B1 & 6, which help with hair growth. It helps treat skin rashes and disorders like eczema and psoriasis, and much more. Castor Oil also stimulates blood circulation to your scalp because it contains omega-6 and ricinoleic acid. It also helps treat dandruff and other scalp infections because it is antibacterial and anti-fungal. Coconut Oil also stimulates hair growth. It helps with dandruff, lice, and other scalp infections as well as helps keep your hair strong and shiny. Jojoba oil also helps with hair growth, helps keep your scalp moisturized, and also treats dandruff and other scalp related disorders. Lavender Oil not only adds a nice scent to the treatment, it also helps prevent hair loss by increasing hair growth, improves blood circulation to your scalp, helps treat eczema and other skin disorders, dandruff and much more.
So what do all these oils have in common? Blood Circulation & Hair Growth! A healthy scalp equals healthy shiny hair & that’s what we all want.
Promote your scalp health & enjoy lustrous beautiful hair!
P.S I do not have oily hair, thus, this works wonders for me. However, if you do have oily hair & you try it, let me know how it goes!
