DIY Strawberry Mask

STRAWBERRY FACE MASK

Yup, you read that right, STRAWBERRY face mask! It’s delicious and easy and an all-time favorite for many beauty enthusiast. I came upon this recipe a few years ago, and I tend to add fresh Aloe Vera to it (because, yes, I’m obsessed with Aloe Vera). However, this recipe I’m sharing is very simple and provides the same effects.

It’s one of my favorite facials for radiant skin & the best part of all, its edible! I tend to do this facial right before a special day, as it leaves my skin soft and bright and makes me feel flawless.

Try it out & eat it too, it’s delicious! (For the sweet lovers out there)

Ingredients:

  • 6 Strawberries (I sometimes only use 4, & eat the rest…oops)
  • 1 tsp Honey

Directions:

  1. In a food processor or blender, blend the honey & strawberries. (the strawberries already have a lot of juice, so there is no need for water)
  2. Apply to skin. Leave on for 20 mins (or 30) and rinse with lukewarm water.

Strawberries are not only delicious & healthy to eat, they are also great for your skin. Strawberries are filled with anti-oxidants, Salicylic acid and vitamin C. Vitamin C targets free radicals, which means, you will have more of those healthy cells & collagen (more of this means less fine lines). The natural juice it produces also helps with skin lightning, so all those blemishes and dark spots will start fading away if used on a regular basis. They are also great for eliminating excess sebum which causes acne (oily skin? No problem, add some strawberries to your routine). Strawberries contain Ellagic acid, which protects your skin from UV rays (<– how cool is that)! Honey is amazing, it provides similar benefits plus additional ones! Its anti-inflammatory, reduces redness, a natural moisturizer, rich in anti-oxidants, anti-bacterial (pimple killer!) & leaves your skin glowing!

Try this out too:

I also use this mixture to plump my lips! After I’m done with my facial, I add 1 tsp of sugar to the mixture. I rub it on my lips softly and leave it on for about 1 or 2 minutes. The sugar exfoliates, the honey moisturizes, & the strawberry plumps the lips due to its natural acids!

I hope you enjoy!
