Coffee, your morning wake up call. The taste of paradise in a cup that lifts you up and gets you ready for the long day ahead. It’s also an excellent ingredient for a homemade body scrub.

Yes, you read that right! The hype is real, and for good reasons! Coffee is an outstanding addition to any skin care product whether store-bought or homemade (preferably homemade; get those toxins out of here ;p). I love this scrub because it not only leaves my skin smooth and bright, but it also tightens all the right places.

Here’s the dish! Coffee is known to tighten skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite (this fact is what is making coffee scrubs even more popular). But, keep this in mind and I tend to tell this to everyone that complains to me about cellulite: Cellulite is a natural part of our bodies. It is for many of us something that will always be present no matter what. We can reduce the appearance of cellulite to the point where it is not that visible; through healthy eating and exercise. However, we must learn to love ourselves, flaws and all.  Embrace that beautiful vessel your soul lives in and simply take care of it to the best of your ability.

Now, on to our body scrub!
Coffee Body Scrub

What you need:

  • 1 Cup Ground Coffee Beans
  • ½ Cup Organic Coconut Oil
  • 5 Drops Sweet Orange Essential Oil (optional)
  • ½ Cup Sugar or Salt (Optional; this is for a more scrubbing effect)
  • Empty glass jar


  • Mix all in an empty jar (I use a mason jar). This scrub will last for 2 uses. If you just want it for 1 use, you can use half a cup of the ground coffee.

*Use this mixture at least 1 to 2 times a week for ultimate results.

Side Note: I use sweet orange oil because of its scent. I like my scrubs to always leave scent on my skin. However, sweet orange oil is an awesome skin beautifier. It increases collagen productions, blood flow, it’s anti-inflammatory, anti-septic and you can add this oil to many skin care (& even hair care) routines!

TIP: I also like to use this scrub (without the sugar and essential oil) as a mask for my thighs. I rub it around my thighs and let it sit for about 30 mins to 1 hour. This I feel, helps my skin look smooth and fresh! You can wrap it with Saran or a towel to prevent messes!
