Cilantro, an herb that I LOVE! An herb that as a Latina is in a lot of my foods, and now a lot on my face! 😀 Cilantro, a gift sent from above (yes, I’m obsessed) has not only health benefits but SKIN benefits. Yup, it’s amazing!

Cilantro is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and dietary fiber! It is commonly known to help people with high blood pressure, anxiety, high cholesterol, and indigestion to name a few. It is also anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Best of all, it’s great for those with oily skin (it will absorb excess oil from your face), great at treating blackheads and acne, and other skin disorders like eczema; & here’s a plus: it’s anti-aging!

Coconut Oil suites all skin types. So, don’t worry if you have oily skin or dry skin, or combination skin, coconut oil has your back! It’s Anti-inflammatory, heals scars and wounds, it’s anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Honey shares in similar benefits as Coconut oil. Its anti-inflammatory, moisturizes, anti-bacterial, and rich in antioxidants, plus it leaves your face glowing.

You know when you feel that pimple coming? Oh the anxiety! Well, Cilantro also works as a great spot treatment. If I have cilantro at home, you bet it’s going on my face & here’s how!

Pimple Spot Treatment

  • Aloe Vera
  • Baking Soda
  • 2 Cilantro leaves (or leaves if you have more than 1 pimple)

Now, what I do is the follow: I mix a small piece of fresh Aloe Vera with 1 TSP of Baking soda and a crushed Cilantro leaf. I apply this to the pimple or affected area and place another cilantro leaf on top. I leave it on for 1 hour.

Now, I don’t know exactly why I love placing that Cilantro leaf at the end, but I feel it seals the ingredients to my skin and lets my skin absorb its benefits better.

Blackhead Spot Treatment:

  • 1 TBSP Cilantro Juice (or a few leaves crushed)
  • 1 TBSP Lime Juice

Apply this mix around the areas with Blackheads. Leave on for 1 hour and wash off with lukewarm water.
