DIY GRAPEFRUIT FACE & HAIR MASK

DIY GRAPEFRUIT FACE & HAIR MASK

Grapefruit is paradise’s chosen fruit. It contains so many health benefits, it’s constantly being praised. I love eating grapefruit, drinking grapefruit and using it for my skin and hair. Grapefruit has high levels of Vitamin A and C, minerals and anti-oxidants. It protects the skin from free radicals, anti-aging, reduces sun spots and blemishes, and protects from UV rays. It helps our skin produce more collagen, smoothing our skin. Also helps treat skin pigmentation and damaged skin due to its’ renewing effects. Grapefruit also stimulates hair growth by cleansing our scalp and boosting blood flow. It helps fight any bacteria, dandruff, or dry skin that may be clogging our hair follicles. You can enjoy the skin and hair benefits by having organic homemade hair or face masks as well as eating the fruit.

FUN FACTS:

Nutmeg is antioxidant rich, it’s also known for being anti-depressant and anti-fungal. Which makes it great for our skin. It helps with acne treatment and prevention, fights aging, and helps with blemishes and sun spots. Honey is anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory, which is great for pimples. It helps reduce redness, it moisturizes and heals the skin.

Grapefruit & Honey Mask

This one is very simple and quick, I do this one if I do not have nutmeg (Rare…but happens!)

1. Simply mix fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and 2 TBSP of Honey, apply to face for 30 mins and rinse.

I also like to add 1 TBSP of Coconut oil if my face is feeling too dry, it helps increase moisture and soothes the skin.

 GRAPEFRUIT HAIR MASK

This hair mask is one of my favorites. I tried it recently and absolutely loved it.

What you need:

  • Half Grapefruit
  • Half Lemon
  • 4 TBSP Organic Coconut Oil
  • 3 TBSP Organic Avocado Oil

Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Apply to your hair and cover with a cap or towel (the natural heat from your scalp will help set the mask better). Leave on for 30 mins to 45 mins and rinse as usual.

TIP: If you have dandruff or an itchy scalp, Grapefruit essential oil is known to help reduce it. You can add a few drops to this mixture.

With Love, Claudia!
