DIY WATERMELON FACE MASK

Hello Everyone,

Lately I’ve been quite busy so I haven’t had a chance to write on here. And with Ramadan just around the corner (this is a holy month, where we fast and reflect as Muslims) and I’ve been preparing. But, I’m back with a post just in time for Spring (or if you live in Miami, Summer 365 days).

We all love Watermelon. It’s refreshing and delicious, not to mention healthy! Watermelon is one of my favorite ingredients when it comes to natural skin & hair care. Watermelon is perfect for dry, oily, or combination skin.

Watermelon Benefits: Anti-aging, rich in antioxidants, high in Vitamin C and A, hydrates and brightens, treats acne, helps with breakouts, reduces excess oil, and is a natural astringent.

SIMPLE WATERMELON MASK

Ingredients:

  • 1 TSP Raw Honey
  • ¼ Watermelon (small watermelon)

Directions:

  1. Remove the seeds (if any) from the watermelon. Blend the watermelon and honey together and apply to face.
  2. Leave on for 15 to 20 mins and rinse with cool water.

Honey is antibacterial and antiseptic. It helps treat acne and kill bacteria. It’s also great for brightening our skin; as it helps tone, reduce blemishes, dark spots and acne scars. Plus, it moisturizes. So it’s perfect alone or added to any mask.

TIP: Always use raw organic honey. Processed honey contain additives that aren’t great for our skin and can cause irritation.
WATERMELON & HONEY BODY SCRUB

Ingredients:

  • One small slice of watermelon
  • 1 TBSP Raw Honey
  • ½ Sugar
  • Optional: One Lemon Juice

Directions:

  1. Blend all ingredients together. It should be 1 cup, enough to scrub your body. Scrub & Rinse.

This scrub is great for dull and neglected skin. I like to use it on my elbows and sometimes even my feet if they are dry. You can also gently scrub your face using this scrub. Your skin will feel nourished and bright.

WATERMELON & BANANA FACE MASK

Ingredients:

  • ¼ Watermelon (small watermelon)
  • ½ Banana (ripe)
  • 1 TSP Aloe Vera (fresh)

Side Note: You can use 2 to 3 drops of Tea Tree essential oil (pure) instead of Aloe Vera, if you have really oily skin as it helps with excess oil and acne.

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients together. Apply to face for 15 to 20 mins and rinse with cool water.

Banana is great for our skin. It is anti-aging, a natural moisturizer, lightens dark spots and blemishes, reduces oil and treats acne. Aloe Vera has similar benefits. It moisturizes, treats acne (antibacterial and antioxidant properties), anti-aging, accelerates healing, reduces blemishes and much more.

WATERMELON TONER

Got extra watermelon? Try this awesome watermelon toner. It’s quick and easy to make and you’ll love it.

All you need is one small piece of watermelon and ½ TBSP of raw organic honey.

Directions:

  1. Blend a small slice of water melon, enough to make ½ cup of juice. Strain the watermelon until you have pink water.
  2. Add ½ TBSP of raw organic honey.
  3. Apply using a cotton ball to your face. Make sure your face is cleansed. After it dries, rinse it off with cold water.
  4. Refrigerate up to 1 week.

I’ve tried all these recipes, and I absolutely love them. Give it a try and let me know how it goes! Make sure you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients by preforming a patch test before trying anything.

Love, Claudia!
