Hope all is well 🙂

Per usual, it’s been a while…work has become increasingly busy and Ramadan is taking most of my time (Alhamdulillah).

We all know our beauty care routine is not complete without the perfect Toner, they are simply put: great for our skin. Toners improve our skins pH balance. After cleansing, our skins’ natural pH deteriorates due to the alkaline in soap. In this case, not using a toner can increase the oil in our face, because our skin is working to restore its pH balance. The toner will help speed up the process and reduce excess oil. Toners also help shrink the appearance of pores and can prevent ingrown hairs from forming. Some toners are Humectants (I love these, perfect for dry skin), helping to attract moisture to your skin and revitalizing it.

So why go DIY? It is simple; no harsh additives.2

  1. Aloe Vera Toner (Inspired by Pixi Glow Tonic)

  • 4 TBSP fresh Aloe Vera Juice
  • 2 TBSP Ginseng decoction
  • 2 Drops Lemongrass Essential Oil

Directions: combine all ingredients and store in the refrigerator. Apply to your face and follow with a moisturizer.

Lemongrass is a great astringent and helps balance the oil glands. Ginseng promotes cell production and skin elasticity, and helps brighten skin. So, it is anti-aging, tightens complexion, and tones the skin. Aloe Vera helps moisturize and soothe, plus it’s also great for acne prone skin.

  1. Jasmine & Rose Water Toner

  • 3 TBSP Jasmine Water
  • 3 TBSP Rose Water.

Directions: Mix well and store in the refrigerator.

This toner is great for dehydrated sensitive skin. Jasmine water helps reduce the appearance of scars and softens the skin. While Rose water has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce the appearance of irritated red skin. It is also great for skin disorders and acne, plus it clears out clogged pores.

  1. Green Tea & Lavender Toner

  • 3 TBSP Green Tea Infusion
  • 3 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • ¼ TSP Organic Honey

  • Add ¼ TSP of Honey to the warm purified water. Mix the rest of the ingredients with the honey water.
  • Store in the refrigerator and shake well before us.

Note: This Mix is great for congested oily skin. I sometimes add Aloe Vera water or apple cider vinegar (1/2 TBSPS).

Lavender oil helps moisturize our skin, helps treat acne and other skin conditions like eczema as well as heals the skin.  Green Tea is anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, helps treat acne, scars and blemishes. Honey is a great skin lightener, it’s also anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, helps with acne, scars, and blemishes.

P.S This is a very nice and informative site I used to learn to make my own herbal infusions —> Here!

With Love, Claudia!
